FAQ

Q1: What is an emergency LED driver?

An emergency LED driver is a power supply that provides battery backup to LED luminaires during mains power failure. When normal power is lost, the driver automatically switches to battery mode, keeping the connected LED lights operating for a specified duration (typically 90 minutes to 3 hours). Once mains power is restored, the driver recharges the battery and returns to standby mode.

Q2: What is LiFePO4 and why does NAIPS use it?

LiFePO4 stands for Lithium Iron Phosphate — a type of lithium battery chemistry. NAIPS uses LiFePO4 because it offers superior safety (no thermal runaway risk), longer cycle life (2,000+ cycles / 10+ years), and stable performance across a wide temperature range. It is the safest lithium chemistry available for emergency lighting applications.

Q3: What is the difference between an emergency driver and a conversion kit?

An emergency driver is a standalone unit that provides battery backup for external LED loads. A conversion kit includes the emergency driver plus all necessary mounting hardware, wiring, and sometimes a battery pack — designed specifically to retrofit existing luminaires into emergency operation. Conversion kits simplify installation by providing everything needed in one package.

Q4: What certifications do NAIPS products carry?

NAIPS products carry CE (European), CB (international, 50+ countries), and SAA (Australia/New Zealand) certifications. All products comply with IEC 60598-2-22. Certificate copies are available to qualified buyers upon request.

Q5: What is the typical emergency duration?

NAIPS emergency drivers and luminaires are available in 90-minute, 180-minute, and 3-hour durations. The required duration depends on your local building code and the type of building. Most commercial buildings require a minimum of 90 minutes; high-occupancy or critical facilities may require 3 hours.

Q6: Can NAIPS drivers be used with any LED luminaire?

NAIPS emergency drivers are designed to be compatible with a wide range of LED luminaires, including LED tubes, panels, downlights, and high-bay fixtures. Compatibility depends on the LED load wattage and voltage. We recommend consulting our technical team or datasheet for specific compatibility information.

Q7: What is the warranty on NAIPS products?

NAIPS provides a standard 【3~5-year】 warranty on all emergency LED drivers and luminaires. The warranty covers manufacturing defects and battery performance within specified parameters. Extended warranty terms are available for OEM/ODM partnership agreements.

Q8: What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

Our standard MOQ is 【100 units】 per model. For first-time orders or sampling, we offer reduced quantities starting from 【50 units】. OEM/ODM orders may have different MOQ requirements depending on customization level. Contact our sales team for specific pricing.

Q9: How long does production take?

Standard production lead time is 【15-25 working days】 depending on order volume and product mix. OEM/ODM custom orders may require an additional 20-45 days for development and sampling. We recommend placing orders at least 4-6 weeks before your required delivery date.

Q10: Does NAIPS offer OEM/ODM services?

Yes. NAIPS provides comprehensive OEM (private label manufacturing) and ODM (custom design and development) services. We can customize wattage, battery capacity, form factor, branding, packaging, and certification marking to meet your market requirements.

Q11: What operating temperature range do your products support?

Standard NAIPS emergency drivers operate from -20°C to +60°C. This range covers most commercial, industrial, and outdoor environments. For extreme temperature applications (cold storage, high-heat industrial), please consult our technical team for specialized solutions.

Q12: How do I install an emergency LED driver?

Installation varies by product model. Generally, the emergency driver is wired between the mains supply and the LED luminaire. During normal operation, the driver charges the internal battery and passes mains power to the LED. When mains power fails, the driver switches to battery output within 1 second. Detailed wiring diagrams are provided with every product. Our technical team can also provide remote installation support.

Q13: What is the difference between maintained and non-maintained emergency lighting?

Maintained emergency luminaires are illuminated at all times (both normal and emergency modes) — common for exit signs. Non-maintained luminaires only illuminate during power failure — common for general emergency lighting. NAIPS drivers support both configurations depending on the wiring setup.

Q14: Can I get samples before placing a bulk order?

Yes. We encourage sampling before bulk orders. Sample quantities are available at a slightly higher unit price, which is credited against your first bulk order. Contact vivi@naipslighting.com or WhatsApp +86 159 0208 5015 to arrange samples.

Q15: What markets does NAIPS currently export to?

NAIPS exports to 60+ countries across Southeast Asia, the Middle East,  Europe, Australia/New Zealand, South America, and Africa. Our CE, CB, and SAA certifications cover the majority of international markets.

Q16: How does NAIPS ensure product quality?

Every NAIPS product undergoes 100% factory testing before shipment, including burn-in testing, emergency activation testing, and battery capacity verification. Our quality control process includes Incoming Quality Control (IQC), In-Process Quality Control (IPQC), Final Quality Control (FQC), and Outgoing Quality Assurance (OQA).

Q17: What payment terms does NAIPS accept?

Standard payment terms are 【T/T (30% deposit, 70% before shipment)】. We also accept 【L/C at sight】 for orders above 【$50,000】. For long-term partnership accounts, extended payment terms may be available. Contact our sales team for details.

Q18: How do I request a product datasheet or certificate?

Email vivi@naipslighting.com with the specific product model number(s) you need documentation for. We typically respond within 24 hours on business days. Datasheets and certificate copies are provided free of charge to qualified buyers.
